What gets you up in the morning?

I love the anticipation and possibility of a new day. A clean slate and opportunity for a fresh start is energizing to me.

What is your biggest accomplishment?

An accomplishment I am very proud of is completing my master’s degree while working full time and raising a family. It was challenging to juggle it all, but the experience made the accomplishment that much sweeter and more satisfying!

What is the most important personal attribute you bring to your job?

I am approachable. The work I do is collaborative in nature, and I want others to feel comfortable sharing their ideas and stories with me.

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

Walking. I try to go for a walk outside every day because I find it allows me to re-center. I’d describe my walks as my version of meditation. I can think more clearly and often come up with my most creative ideas while on my walks.

What excites you most about BARR’s future?

The future is bright for BARR! The culture BARR associates have created and continue to build upon is what will fuel our continued growth and success. BARR is composed of incredibly knowledgeable and talented people who respect and learn from each other. With this type of team and culture, we will continue to innovate to provide the best solutions for our clients.

What advice do you have for someone starting a career in the cybersecurity industry?

This is a fantastic industry that is incredibly fast paced and ever changing. As a cybersecurity professional, it’s a great asset to continuously learn about the newest tools/trends and keep up to date with news.

In my previous firm, I was recognized as one of 16 risk consultants in the U.S. East region for high business performance and contribution to company initiatives through award nomination.

What inspires you?

When people go the extra mile to help someone. I see this at BARR often and it’s incredibly inspiring to work in an environment that fosters positivity and community building.

What excites you about where the industry is going?

There are so many exciting trends within the HR industry, but if I had to narrow it down I am most excited about the importance of health, well-being and psychological safety; how improving inclusion and belonging can positively change and improve work culture; and how training is being re-envisioned.

What is your biggest accomplishment?

My greatest accomplishment would most certainly have to be being a mom. I do not take for granted the blessing I have in being able to carry, birth, and experience raising my little one.

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

I love nature and being outdoors. My favorite new hobby is exploring the different trails in North Carolina.

What inspires you?

More than anything, I want to make the most out of the time I have here on earth. In a way, that is my ultimate inspiration. I am very intentional when it comes to both career and personal aspirations. I have a “why” for everything I do and I use that as inspiration to accomplish goals centered around my “why.”
