3 New Associates Join BARR’s Cyber Risk Advisory Team

BARR’s Cyber Risk Advisory team continues to grow with the addition of three new associates: Charlynn Yeung, senior consultant, Cameron Kline, senior consultant, and Katie Bialy, associate consultant. 

We asked each associate five random questions. Let’s get to know them!

  • What advice do you have for someone starting a career in the cybersecurity industry?
    Stay agile, open-minded, and as dynamic as the industry is! Never be afraid to reach out to your mentors for advice or expert opinions.
  • What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever been or favorite vacation spot?
    Antelope Canyon—an absolute must see on a road trip through the western United States.
  • Favorite food?
    Pho, but I love all types of noodles in soup!
  • What is your favorite outdoor activity?
    Hiking. Growing up in Hawaii and now living in California, I try my best to get outside and enjoy the trails around me.

  • What is your biggest accomplishment?
    Finishing a seven-mile race (Falmouth Road Race) having never had a desire to jog or run in my life.
  • What inspires you?
    Striving to make my parents and family proud of me from a career and personal perspective. I strive to become a better person each day.
  • Favorite outdoor activity?
    Can’t pick just one. I love golf, grilling/smoking various meats, and hiking.
  • What’s different about BARR’s approach?
    BARR utilizes the most efficient resources in the industry to streamline the completion of SOC reports quickly with the highest level of quality. This saves clients money and provides SOC certifications in less time than usual.
  • What are you most excited about for BARR’s future?
    The growth and addition of amazing new employees who bring diverse perspectives to the company.

  • What excites you about where the industry is going?
    With a lot of businesses moving to a completely virtual work model after COVID, there is a greater need for companies to focus on their cybersecurity. I feel businesses will continue to operate in this virtual manner, so the need to understand their cyber risks is more important than ever.
  • Most beautiful place you’ve ever been?
    I’ve traveled to 23 different countries so I’ve definitely seen a lot of the world! I would say the most beautiful country I’ve been to is New Zealand.
  • What is the most important personal attribute you bring to your job?
    My parents instilled in me the importance of hard work since I was young. I would definitely say hard work is one of the most important traits I bring to any job I have.
  • What is your biggest accomplishment?
    I spent the last three years living in different parts of the world working as a yoga instructor. This was a dream of mine since I got my certification and I’m definitely proud I pursued that goal!
  • What inspires you?
    To leave this world better than when I arrived on it.
