BARR Advisory Taps Jonnae Hill as New Head of People & Culture

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — BARR Advisory today announced that Jonnae Hill has been named the cybersecurity and compliance solutions firm’s new Head of People & Culture.

Hill brings to the role a wide range of experience in people operations and community engagement. Since joining the BARR team in April 2021, Hill has led initiatives to foster an inclusive, collaborative work environment and forged strong partnerships with community leaders to bolster the firm’s mission of building trust through cyber resilience.

Hill has also played a pivotal role in the development and success of the BARR Belong Foundation, which works to create stronger, safer, more secure communities through a combination of volunteerism and charitable gifts to local and national organizations like the American Red Cross, Feeding America, and Children’s Mercy Hospital.

“Jonnae has truly championed BARR’s mission, associate experience, and community engagement efforts,” said BARR Advisory founder and president Brad Thies. “There is no question that her leadership in this role will put our firm in a strong position for continued growth in 2024 and beyond.”

Prior to joining the BARR team, Hill held leadership positions at Rockhurst University and the University of Missouri–Kansas City and coordinated large-scale fundraising events for the American Cancer Society in Kansas City.

As BARR’s Head of People & Culture, Hill will oversee all aspects of the associate life cycle, including recruiting, onboarding, and associate engagement and wellness.

The news comes just weeks after BARR Advisory was named the recipient of Central Exchange’s 2023 STEMMy Corporate HERO Award. The award recognizes an organization that promotes and advocates for women in STEMM and will be formally presented at the 10th Annual STEMMy Awards Ceremony in Kansas City on Oct. 26.
