Being Future Ready: How BARR Advisory Is Investing in What’s Next

December 31, 2025 | Compliance, Cybersecurity

At BARR Advisory, being future ready isn’t just one of our core values—it’s a commitment. As technology, compliance, and cybersecurity evolve at an unprecedented speed, we believe the only way to serve our clients effectively is to stay deeply connected to the industries we support. That means learning from peers, engaging with innovators, and contributing to conversations that shape what’s next.

In 2025, that commitment came to life through our active participation in key industry events across cybersecurity, compliance, technology, and more. From sponsorships to attendance, these moments reflect how we help our clients prepare for the future with confidence. In this post, we’ll expand upon how:

  • BARR Advisory actively sponsored and attended 10+ events across cybersecurity, compliance, and healthcare in 2025.
  • These engagements strengthened relationships and kept BARR aligned with emerging tools, trends, and regulations.
  • Ongoing learning and leadership presence ensure forward-looking guidance for clients.

Building Stronger Ecosystems Through Partnership

Several of the year’s events underscore BARR Advisory’s belief in partnership-driven progress. In February, we sponsored Drata’s Annual Kick-Off (AKO) in San Diego, joining leaders who are redefining trust, automation, and compliance at scale. Supporting events like Drata AKO allows us to collaborate directly with platform innovators and stay aligned with the tools our clients increasingly rely on.

That same spirit of collaboration carried into Europe this spring. We sponsored the EU Startups Summit in Malta in April, engaging with founders and investors navigating early-stage growth amid rising regulatory expectations. Startups often face unique compliance and security challenges, and being present at this stage allows us to better anticipate their needs.

Throughout the year, we continued that momentum with sponsorships at the NE HIMSS Annual Conference in June, Drataverse in New York in September, the NE HIMSS Digital Health Event in October, the A-LIGN Compliance Connections Tour in Washington D.C., and VantaCon in San Francisco in November. Each sponsorship reflects our long-term investment in communities shaping the future of regulated industries.

Staying Close to Innovation and Industry Change

Equally important to sponsoring events is showing up to listen, learn, and exchange ideas. In April, members of the BARR Advisory team attended UK Cyber Week in London, gaining valuable insight into global cyber trends, regulatory shifts, and emerging threats. With cybersecurity risks becoming more complex and interconnected, global perspectives matter more than ever.

Later that month, we attended the AI Summit: Re-Imagining Healthcare with Tech and Talent in Boston. As artificial intelligence reshapes healthcare delivery, data governance, and risk management, this event reinforced the importance of balancing innovation with strong security and compliance foundations.

In September, our team attended the PCI North America Community Meeting in Fort Worth, Texas. With payment security standards continuing to evolve, this event offered critical updates and peer dialogue that directly inform how we help clients protect sensitive data and maintain compliance.

Leadership Presence Where It Matters Most

Our commitment to being future ready also means ensuring BARR Advisory leadership is engaged where strategic conversations happen. In October, we attended HLTH in Las Vegas, one of the most influential healthcare innovation conferences in the world. Our presence reflects our focus on understanding the intersection of healthcare, technology, compliance, and risk from a strategic, executive-level perspective.

What Being Future Ready Really Means

Collectively, these events represent more than a busy calendar. They demonstrate how BARR Advisory actively invests in knowledge, relationships, and foresight. By sponsoring, attending, and engaging across industries all around the world, we ensure our perspectives remain current and our guidance remains practical, informed, and forward-looking.

Being future ready means anticipating change before it becomes urgent. It means understanding not just today’s requirements, but tomorrow’s risks and opportunities. And it means standing alongside our clients as trusted advisors who are as committed to their long-term success as they are.

“Learning from peers, tracking emerging trends, and bringing fresh ideas back to our team are what I look forward to when attending events throughout the year,” says Steve Ryan, senior manager of attest services at BARR. “These experiences strengthen our perspective, spark innovation, and help ensure we continue delivering forward-thinking solutions and exceptional value to our clients.”

As we look ahead, one thing remains clear: the future belongs to organizations willing to learn, adapt, and lead. At BARR Advisory, we’re proud to be part of that future—every step of the way.
