BARR Wraps Up a Successful HIMSS24, Focuses on Relationships

BARR Advisory associates recently returned from HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition (HIMSS24), in Orlando, Florida, which brought together more than 40,000 participants from around the world. Attendees included visionary CIOs and top-level executives, dedicated healthcare providers, tech-savvy information professionals, forward-thinking government officials, innovative disruptors, strategic consultants, and dynamic market suppliers, among many others.

Members of the BARR Advisory team attended the conference for the fourth consecutive year to showcase the firm’s growing suite of solutions for healthcare organizations pursuing compliance against cybersecurity standards including HITRUST, PCI DSS, ISO 27001 and 27701, SOC 2, and HIPAA.

The conference featured a presentation from BARR’s own Steve Ryan, manager of attest services and head of healthcare services, titled “Creating Cyber Resilience: Your Guide to Healthcare Vendor Risk Management.” In his presentation, he outlined key security risks posed by third-party vendors and shared strategies for healthcare organizations aiming to face these issues head-on. “This year’s HIMSS conference can be summed up in one word: relationships. We had a fantastic opportunity to connect with current clients, talk shop with prospective clients, build our networks, and also build our partnership pool,” said Ryan.

In addition to presenting, BARR exhibited in the Cybersecurity Command Center. Attendees had the opportunity to discover more about BARR’s healthcare cybersecurity compliance solutions, along with opportunities to win prizes and take home giveaways.

BARR also hosted a well-attended happy hour, giving associates and their colleagues a chance to talk beyond the conference center. “Having moments to chat with industry experts helps us understand how we can best support each other and overall, make the world a more secure place,” added Ryan.
